The core business of 3DJR is to provide graphite electrode engineering, modelling, programming and machining. Our area of activity, the expertise acquired over the years and the equipment and technologies available to us have enabled us to develop client-tailored, high quality solutions at a competitive and sustainable price.

Equipped with a fully-automated cell, a robot that feeds three high-speed, high precision, three and five axis equipment, and three-dimensional control equipment, 3DJR has the unique characteristics to become your ideal product in the manufacture of graphite electrodes.

Our vision is to be recognised as a partner that provides benchmark solutions, at national and international level, in the manufacture of graphite parts and carbon composite materials.

Our mission is also to provide our clients and partners with solutions tailored to their needs using a customised, high quality service at a competitive and sustainable price.

3DJR, Unipessoal, Lda. was established in 2006 with the main aim of providing services to mould sector companies, in particular project, modelling and programming services.

In 2009-2010, when the harsh economic crisis became particularly noticeable, the company was reorganised and its area of intervention was expanded to accommodate the graphite electrode machining service. A production, industrialised area was set up in 2011 with the purchase of the first machining centre. In the same year, 3DJR kicked-off with the activity it has pursued to this day: engineering, modelling, programming and graphite electrode machining.

In 2012, with the increasing demand for the services and products offered, the company purchased a second machining centre. To ensure the quality of the products sold, 3DJR purchased, in that same year, a new CMM machine for the three-dimensional control of electrodes produced.

The increasing demand and the consequent need to satisfy this demand led the company to purchase a third machining centre in 2013.

The company’s gradual and sustainable development, the gradual demand for services and products it offered, and the management’s innovative, dynamic and entrepreneurial capacity resulted in the purchase of a robot, in 2014, to automate the product system. In that same year, 3DJR decided to improve the industrial production by replacing one of the machining centres with the very latest and fastest equipment.

In order to increase its production capacity and improve the capacity to address clients’ needs, in 2015 the company developed and implemented an automated cell consisting of three machining centres (three axes), a robot and a three-dimensional control machine. In late 2015, 3DJR updated the system with the purchase of a five-axis machining centre.

Innovative in robotization in graphite electrode machining services, and always attentive to market needs, in late 2016, 3DJR modernize again the production line with the acquisition of a new five-axis machining centre.
